No Time For Tears

The African Theatre group have successfully performed No Time for Tears on July 31st and August 22nd at the Bankstown Arts and Craft Centre. Written by Sala Ibrahim and directed by Effie Nkrumah No Time for Tears is a powerful story of human rights and a person who fights against tyranny. Performers include; Rodney Ahenkan, Rairai Paul, Martin Obuga, Samuel Ayanorah, Sofia Edosomwan, Noah Koroma, Peter Adams, Rosemary Kariuki, Frank Dompreh, Sandra Baryeh, Adjoa Nkrumah, and featuring Nicole & Michael Duchesne.

A note from the director....

As a playwright I would like to highlight the valuable service provided by Bankstown Youth Development Service to the people in the Bankstown area and to aspiring playwrights like myself. Through BYDS African theatre project I was able to stage a play 'No Time for Tears'.

The play was a great success and it has received positive reviews from the audience. I must say that if BYDS and its dynamic management didn't exist it would be impossible to develop such culturally diverse projects that benefit the wider community and contribute to human understanding. BYDS is not only an organisation like any other... it's unique because it works with talent, develops talent and touches the lives of many throughout its creative endeavours.
