The 2008 Indigenous Youth Forum took place on July 1st at Bankstown Town Hall. It brought together Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander youths from over 15 local schools. The purpose of the event is to encourage indigenous students and their families to participate in school and community activities as well as giving them the opportunity to make plans for future projects and discover other initiatives that they could become involved in.
Students participated in a series of art, hip-hop and jewellery-making workshops led by industry professionals including Jamie Eastwood, Munkimuk, Aunty Noeline Holten & Aunty Margaret Goneis.
At the end of the day students came together to create a "wish-list" of future projects they would like to participate in so watch this space for further updates! Check out the WISHLIST HERE.
