mUm MuM mum MUMby Lachlan Yuen - 9 years old
I once drew a picture of my mum as a pink power ranger and it won. I think the prizes were a mug, shopping vouchers, some chocolates and a massager tool.
She has told me and lied that she used to be a witch before she had kids. She said she had to give up her magic powers before she could have children. She said that’s why she still has a Buddha belly and has to vacuum and wash dishes instead of wiggling her nose or a magic wand.
I guess I’m lucky that she doesn’t turn me into a toad or frog.
She says she wishes I had a mute button or an on and off button.
She’s my homework hero. If she didn’t nag me to do it, I might not get it all done. Sometimes she gets stressed about the way I do it. Then she stresses me. If burglars came into our house, she would probably ask them: “What’s 80 x 80?”
I like learning different types of dancing. I encourage Mum when she does mummy’s ballet and I can tell her what she is doing wrong and how to do it right.
She doesn’t like it when I call her mother or she. She likes it when I tell her she has to go on a diet but she doesn’t like it when I want junk food. Every kid needs a mum, even big kids.
