Westside Story
Picking up where Westside at the Wharf left off, Westside Story is a new project in development by BYDS.
Westside writers will train as an ensemble in a new technique of presenting writing through live performance.
In collaboration with Westside editor, Mohammed Ahmad, Chief Editor of Giramondo Publishing, Professor Ivor Indyk, will train the ensemble in producing new works of writing and theatre director Roslyn Oades will train with the ensemble in producing a live reading of material generated.
A public showing of Westside Story will be held in early 2009. Check the website for more updates.
As part of the Westside Story program, writing workshops are being held fortnightly at Hackett House (BYDS offices) on Thursday evenings. If you would like to attend or be involved, contact Mohammed.
This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body.
